Byron Area Schools is asking voters to consider renewing its operating millage. This is not a new tax, but a renewal of the current millage that supports daily school operations.

This millage provides funding for:
-Teacher salaries, support staff, and utilities
-Transportation and classroom supplies
-Athletics, arts, and extracurricular programs
-Maintaining small class sizes and strong academic programs
-Meeting the State of Michigan's requirement that districts levy 18 mills in order to receive full state aid

Without this millage, Byron Area Schools would lose approximately $700,000 in annual funding.

Election Day: August 5, 2025
Polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Absentee ballots become available on June 26, 2025, for the August 5, 2025 election. To request an absentee ballot, go to: absentee-voting

All registered voters in Michigan have the right to vote by mail using an absentee ballot delivered to their home. Voters can also request an absentee ballot directly from their local clerk’s office. Absentee ballots are available beginning 40 days prior to every election. Michigan voters can now join the permanent absentee ballot list by checking a box on the application to automatically receive an absentee ballot for every election.
